Training in Effective Reportage in Fisheries and Environmental Issues

 

The Centre for Coastal Management (CCM) is organizing a two-day training workshop for prospective and/or practicing young journalists to help advance effective and resposible reportage in Fisheries and Environmental Issues.

The Event takes place from 25th to 27th May, 2017.
The training is free for all selected participants.

Background

The Centre for Coastal Management (CCM) in collaboration with the Department of Fisheries and Aquatic sciences (DFAS) of the University of Cape Coast is implementing a USAID/UCC Capacity Building Project in Fisheries and Coastal Management along the coastal regions of Ghana. The project requires reportage on the most essential elements of the environmental and fisheries issues that have the potential to causing a major shift in the way we perceive and treat the environment.

Along these lines and as part of building the capacity of journalist in environmental reporting, CCM is organizing a two-day training workshop for prospective and, or practicing young journalists to help advance this national course of working to bring harmony in the treatment of environmental; including sanitation issues and fisheries practices in the coastal communities.

This training will be practical and involve visits to various sites of interest that fulfill the objectives of this training.
