Ernest is a research support fellow at the Centre for Coastal Management – Africa Centre of Excellence in Coastal Resilience (CCM-ACECoR) at the University of Cape Coast. He holds a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) degree in Aquaculture and a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences, both from the University of Cape Coast (UCC), Ghana. Ernest led UCC's activities on Phase I of the USAID-funded Women Shellfishers and Food Security Activity that is assessing women-led estuarine and mangrove ecosystem-based shellfisheries livelihoods in 11 West African countries, from Senegal to Nigeria. His current research areas include coastal and marine aquaculture, small-scale fisheries livelihoods and with interest in gender, youth and governance issues, and nuclear applications in marine food production. Ernest has a broad skill base in quantitative and qualitative research and data analysis, digital data collection and management, science and development communications, digital and print publishing and design, peer-reviewed journal editorial management, and project monitoring and evaluation.
