Regina Sitsope Tosu is an early career marine scientist from Ghana, dedicated to understanding and preserving marine ecosystems through interdisciplinary research and community engagements. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Science and Biochemistry from the University of Ghana and is currently pursuing a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Oceanography and Limnology at the University of Cape Coast as a World Bank Scholar under the Africa Centre of Excellence in Coastal Resilience, ACECoR project. 

Her academic journey is marked by a deep curiosity for marine life and environmental resilience.  Following her successful completion of the University of Ghana, she went ahead with her National service with the Fisheries scientific survey division, FSSD of the Fisheries Commission where she engaged in laboratory analysis of fish for fish stock assessment, laboratory analysis water samples for monthly physicochemical parameters, beach sein for marine litter assessment, community engagement and other administrative roles. She has also been trained by Hydenlyne Global Energy Services as a Marine Mammal Observer (MMO) and Passive Acoustic Monitoring (PAM) Operator, where she plays a critical role in safeguarding marine wildlife during offshore seismic operations. 

Driven by a desire to combat coastal vulnerabilities and marine degradation, Regina aspires to contribute to global efforts in ocean conservation while inspiring the next generation of African marine scientists. Her story is one of curiosity, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to protecting our blue planet and promoting the blue economy.
