The Centre for Coastal Management – Africa Centre of Excellence in Coastal Resilience (CCM-ACECoR) at the University of Cape Coast, on Tuesday, March 24, paid a courtesy visit to the Ghana Navy to advance collaboration in research and the protection of Ghana’s coastal and marine environment.


The visit, led by Professor Precious Mattah, the Acting Director of CCM-ACECoR, was also aimed at strengthening existing ties between the two institutions.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Professor Mattah shared insights into CCM-ACECoR’s nearly 15 years of work, highlighting its role in addressing coastal challenges, monitoring ecosystems to support conservation, and promoting the sustainable use of marine resources.


Receiving the delegation on behalf of the Chief of the Naval Staff, Ben Baba Abdul assured the Centre of the Navy’s full support. He reaffirmed the Ghana Navy’s commitment to collaborating with CCM-ACECoR to enhance research efforts and safeguard the country’s coastal and marine resources.
He also added that the collaboration would further reinforce the Ghana Navy’s mandate to effectively protect the country’s maritime space.
