On Monday 30th May 2022, the Chief of Party for Ghana Fisheries Recovery Activity (GFRA) Heather D'Agnes paid a visit to the Centre for Coastal Management-Africa Centre of Excellence in Coastal Resilience (CCM-ACECoR) to familiarise herself with the activities of the centre and also explore opportunities for future collaborations.

The African Union – Inter African Bureau for Animal Resources (AU-IBAR) has appointed Dr. Isaac Okyere as a member of the African Fisheries Reform Mechanism (AFRM) working group, a group of experts drawn from AU member states to work in addressing the numerous challenges facing Africa’s fisheries sector, cutting across small scale fisheries, aquaculture, trade, policy, governance, and institutional strengthening. Dr. Florent Engelmann of the French Embassy in Ghana and the new attaché for scientific and higher education cooperation visited ACECoR and the Department of Fisheries and Aquaculture (DFAS)to discuss potential areas of collaboration in research, student internships and training.
