    Staff of Anloga District Assembly and Forestry Commission Trained on the Use of Drones for Mapping

    A two-day training has been held for the staff of the Anloga District Assembly and Forestry Commission  in Anloga on the use of drones for mapping under the Coasts-Under-Control project within the Centre for Coastal Management, UCC. The training came off as part of community extension services of the project funded by the “Jeunes Equipes Associées à l'IRD” (JEAI) Program which is one of the main scientific cooperation schemes of the (Institute of Research for development,IRD).

    The Marine Litter Network (MALNET) is an Inter-ACE Impact thematic network which seeks to promote a network of research and development actors, to accelerate scientific research in marine litter and coastal degradation, and strengthen the interlinkages and partnerships between ACE Impact Centres and collaborators across the West Africa Region as a whole.

    World Wetlands Day Celebrations At Dabala, Volta Region


    Staff of the Centre for Coastal Management in partnership with the Calgary Zoo/Wilder Institute, Forestry Commission and the Avu Lagoon Community Resource Management Area (CREMA) board celebrated the World Wetlands Day at Tosukpo DA Basic school at Dabala in the Volta Region of Ghana, on Thursday, February 2nd, 2023. 

    The event was graced by the Deputy Director of CCM (Dr. Precious Mattah), the Headmaster of the school (Mr. Wisdom Napoleon Agbenyeho), staff of the school and members of the Avu lagoon board.

    The Africa Centre of Excellence in Coastal Resilience received a number of applications for the academic programmes of the 2022/2023 school year. Twenty-two of these applicants were successful and selected into MPhil and PhD programmes; Mphil Integrated Coastal Zone Management, PhD Integrated Coastal Zone Management, MPhil Blue Economy, PhD Blue Economy.
