The Ghana Statistical Service (GSS), in partnership with the Centre for Coastal Management at the University of Cape Coast and supported by the Global Ocean Accounts Partnership (GOAP) Secretariat, has inaugurated Ghana’s first Ocean Accounts Technical Working Group to lead the development of the country’s first Ocean Economy Satellite Account (OESA).

The Centre for Coastal Management, Africa Centre of Excellence in Coastal Resilience (CCM-ACECoR) at the University of Cape Coast (UCC) has hosted a PhD candidate under the Erasmus+ Mobility Programme, in July, 2026. The student, Commander Ayo Olusola Pacheco, is a Nigerian Navy officer and second-year PhD candidate in Maritime Affairs at the World Maritime University (WMU) in Malmö, Sweden.
The Centre for Coastal Management – Africa Centre of Excellence in Coastal Resilience (CCM-ACECoR), University of Cape Coast (UCC), hosted Ms. Anna Karlqvist, the Coordinator for the Erasmus+ Mobility Programme at the World Maritime University (WMU), Malmö, Sweden. Ms. Anna paid a working visit to learn more about the Centre as well as the University and to explore opportunities for collaboration. This visit came after 10 students from UCC successfully completed a month exchange visit at WMU.
