Position: Project Technical Support Staff
Location: University of Cape Coast, Ghana
Reports to: Project Manager
Contract Type: Full-time, Fixed-term (one year with possible renewal)

1. Background
This position supports the international science cooperation project conducted jointly by partner institutions in Ghana and Japan. The Technical staff will help the Project Team with field works, data collection, equipment installation, and analysis to ensure smooth project implementation.
2. Main Responsibilities
Research
• Assist in the installation of field equipment along the coast
• Bathymetry, topography, wave data, and other data collection
• Support in the cleaning and processing of data
Document and Office Management
• Conduct intermittent field visits to check equipment
• Maintain all equipment or report issues with equipment.
Coordination and Logistics
• Support coordinator to arrange meetings, travel, and accommodation for project researchers and visitors
• Support organization of workshops and field activities
3. Qualifications
Essential:
• MPhil. Degree already obtained or with thesis submitted in Physical/Coastal Oceanography, Integrated coastal zone Management, or a related field
• Experience in MATLAB/Python programming language for data processing
• Experience with camera installation, use of drones, bathymetric measurements, and wave data collection
• Good command of written and spoken English
• Experience in GIS and Remote sensing tools
• Scientific writing and experience in research publications
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Desirable:
• Experience in international or research projects
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
4. Contract Conditions
• Starting Date: 1st December 2025
• Duration: 12 months (renewable based on performance)
• Working hours: Full-time, 5 days per week
• Duty station: Project office in ACECOR building, University of Cape Coast
