    The atmosphere was electrifying as the 4th edition of the Osabarimba Royal Awards began, promising a day of honouring outstanding achievements, fostering unity, and inspiring visionary leadership. The event took place at the prestigious Emintsimadze Palace on January 20, 2024, and attracted a wide range of attendees, including representatives from different traditions, cultures, industry, government and non-governmental organisations, alumni associations, various groups, sponsors, media, and the general public.

    In a dynamic collaboration between the Africa Centre of Excellence in Coastal Resilience (ACECoR), the Centre for Coastal Management (CCM), the Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences (DFAS), the Department of Applied Economics and the Ocean Country Partnership Program (OCPP), an informative student orientation session recently unfolded. This event, which took place on the 15th of January 2024, was attended by both seasoned resource persons, and the newly admitted cohort of students.

    The Centre for Coastal Management (CCM) at the University of Cape Coast is an applied research and development-oriented Centre of Excellence recognised by the World Bank and supervised by the Association of African Universities (AAU). The Centre is a multidisciplinary think tank institution working in close committed partnerships with several funded programs. One of such programs is the the Avu Lagoon Community Protected Area Project.

    The Africa Centre of Excellence in Coastal Resilience (ACECoR) recently concluded its annual work plan meeting at the Rock City Hotel in Kwahu-Abetifi. The event spanned from Monday, 11th December to Wednesday, 13th December 2023, bringing together dedicated staff members to strategize and outline the activities for the upcoming year, 2024.
