The Centre for Coastal Management is one of the departments at the School of Biological Sciences at University of Cape Coast.

The Centre does not award academic degrees. Certificates of Participation are awarded at the end of each short course/training.

The Centre’s activities fall under three broad themes that converge towards sustainable management of Ghana’s coast; 1. Applied Research, 2. Capacity Building and 3. Extension and Outreach.

The Centre is placed under the School of Biological Sciences at the College of Agriculture and Natural Sciences, University of Cape Coast.

The Centre and the DFAS are two separate entities. The Centre is however being operationalised by DFAS with support from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

CCM is located on the ground floor of the College of Education Studies 
Lecture Theatre Building at University of Cape Coast, Cape Coast, Ghana.

CCM short courses are designed for professionals in the course specific fields. Working knowledge and experience in the preferred course is required.

CCM offers the following short courses

  • Introductory Geographic Information Systems (GIS)

  • Intermediate Geographic Information Systems (GIS)

  • Integrated Coastal Zone Management (ICZM

  • Fisheries Management and

  • Adaptation and Mitigation to Climate Change in Coastal Areas

CCM has limited scholarships awarded on merit. CCM scholarships are open to all and advertised on CCM website and other platforms when available.
