The West Africa Coastal Area (WACA) Programme aims to strengthen the ability of countries in the region to tackle key challenges facing their coastlines. This includes minimizing the impacts of erosion, pollution, and flooding, while also promoting better management of shared coastal resources. Ultimately, WACA seeks to lessen the risks faced by coastal communities, both from natural disasters and human activities, by implementing nature-based solutions that boost the overall resilience of the coastal environment.
