The Centre for Coastal Management at the University of Cape Coast in collaboration with Department of Marine Science at Chulalongkorn University, Thailand will be leading one of the Technical Sessions at the 7th International Marine Debris Conference (7IMDC) to be held from the 18th to 23rd September 2022 in Busan, Republic of Korea.

The Technical Session to be co-chaired by Mrs Sika Abrokwah, an Assistant Research Fellow from the Centre and Prof. Suchana Apple Chavanich from Chulalongkorn University falls under the International Collaboration Track (Track 9) and is titled:

"Closing Marine Debris Knowledge Gaps Towards Sustainable Solutions".

The session will seek to provide a platform to share ideas on how research and knowledge on marine debris in data poor regions such as Africa and Asia can be improved, in such a way as to contribute meaningfully to solving the global challenge of marine debris. Find more details at:

The call for abstracts and posters for the conference has been launched and is open until 29th April 2022. Interested persons who wish to share their perspectives, ideas or knowledge on the subject and/or subjects under other technical sessions are invited to submit an abstract or poster see:
