The Centre for Coastal Management, as part of its institutional culture, has held its first team meeting for the year, following last year’s work plan session for the year 2026.
Welcoming the team into the new year, the Acting Director, Prof. Precious Mattah, encouraged everyone to recommit to the Centre’s values and give their best to achieve its goals for the year.
A major highlight of the meeting was the formal announcement of a reorganisation of the Centre’s research thematic areas and administrative units, marking an important milestone in the Centre’s continued growth and strategic direction.
In this regard, Prof. Precious Mattah formally unveiled the new Research Theme Leads: Prof. Noble Asare for Coastal Dynamics, Climate Change, and Disaster Risk Management; Dr. (Mrs.) Sika Abrokwah for Marine Pollution and Ecotoxicology; Dr. Isaac Okyere for Blue Economy and Ocean Governance; Dr. Richard Adade for Population, Human Well-being, and Coastal Environment; and Dr. Isaac Kofi Osei for Sustainable Fisheries and Marine Biodiversity Conservation.
He further introduced the newly appointed Leads for the Centre’s Administrative Units, namely Dr. Donatus Angnuureng as Research and Grants Coordinator, Ms. Ivy Akuoko Gyimah as Sectorial Liaison Officer, and Dr. Eric Krampah as Academic Coordinator.
In addition, Mr. Joshua Adotey, Dr. Emmanuel Acheampong, and Prof. Ernest K. Amankwah Afrifa were retained in their respective roles as Monitoring and Evaluation Unit Lead, Data Hub Unit Lead, and Environmental Safeguard Lead.
Prof. Mattah charged all Theme Leads and Unit Heads to give their very best in their new roles and also urged staff to give them their maximum support and cooperation.
