The Centre for Coastal Management (CCM) and the Department of Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) in collaboration with the University of Rhode Island (USA) and the Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture Development organized this maiden conference.

This initiative was designed to strengthen policy linkages and enable researchers, journalists, and think tanks connect their voices to the sustainable fisheries and coastal development agenda of Ghana. The conference provided an opportunity for a more holistic discussion on a resource that is shared by millions of people, yet, under threat and mismanaged. This conference featured panel discussions, keynote presentations and session papers. There was also opportunity for industry and market players to showcase their latest technologies.
