Cefas Team on Working Visit to CCM-ACECoR
Body

The Centre for Coastal Management, Africa Centre of Excellence in Coastal Resilience (CCM-ACECoR, UCC), led by the Deputy Director, Dr. Precious Mattah received and hosted a team from the Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture Science (Cefas), on a three-day working visit.

The team led by Dr. Holly Nel met with students at the centre to get an understanding of the research scope activities of the centre. The team constructively criticised the student's work, opening their minds to what developing partners as well as journal editors look out for in research.

The team also took the opportunity to tour the ACECoR building under construction and specifically had a look at the would-be specialized lab to be furnished by Cefas. Based on the type of equipment that would be stationed in the lab, they made some recommendations to the contractor.

Their visit was crowned with an update on the project on the data collection of Abandoned, Lost or otherwise Discarded Fishing Gear as well as finalizing agreements on the Ocean Country Partnership Programme's Ghana Scholarships to be hosted by the centre.
