The Centre for Coastal Management - Africa Centre of Excellence in Coastal Resilience (CCM-ACECoR), at the University of Cape Coast, welcomed officials from the World Bank's West Africa Coastal Areas (WACA) Management Program as part of the project's mid-term review mission, on June 1, 2026. The visit formed part of the World Bank's assessment of the WACA Project's progress, with a focus on identifying lessons learned, evaluating achievements, and exploring how these lessons can be integrated into the remaining implementation period and future coastal resilience initiatives.
The Research and Grants Coordinator of the Centre for Coastal Management-ACECoR at the University of Cape Coast, Dr. Donatus Angnuureng, has been elected and inaugurated as the Africa Representative of the Coastal Engineering Research Council (CERC) Early Career Subcommittee member. The appointment was made during the 39th International Conference on Coastal Engineering (ICCE 2026), held in Galveston, Texas, USA, from May 17–22, 2026.

Ten postgraduate students (7 Masters and 3 PhD) from the University of Cape Coast (UCC) have successfully completed a month-long Erasmus+ mobility programme at the World Maritime University (WMU) in Malmö, Sweden, gaining valuable academic, professional and intercultural experiences. This student mobility was funded by the Erasmus+ programme through the World Maritime University in collaboration with the Centre for Coastal Management – Africa Centre of Excellence in Coastal Resilience (CCM-ACECoR), UCC.
