    CENTRE FOR COASTAL MANAGEMENT HOSTS THE 3RD BIENNIAL CONFERENCE ON FISHERIES AND COASTAL ENVIRONMENT

    The Centre for Coastal Management(CCM-ACECoR) of the University of Cape Coast hosted the 3rd Biennial Conference on Fisheries and Coastal Environment (CFCE) from November 6–8, 2023, at the Mensvic Grand Hotel in Accra, in partnership with the World Bank, WACA, Feed the Future Ghana Fisheries Recovery Activity (USAID-FTFGFRA), and Vulnerability to Viability Global Partnership Program, among other partners.

    The Centre for Coastal Management, Africa Centre of Excellence in Coastal Resilience (CCM-ACECoR, UCC), led by the Deputy Director, Dr. Precious Mattah received and hosted a team from the Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture Science (Cefas), on a three-day working visit.

    The team led by Dr. Holly Nel met with students at the centre to get an understanding of the research scope activities of the centre. The team constructively criticised the student's work, opening their minds to what developing partners as well as journal editors look out for in research.

    Community Tree Planting Event Held at Bayive

    On a lovely bright and sunny morning of September 21, 2023 members of the Bayive community gathered together for a tree planting activity. The event was organized by Avu Lagoon CREMA Partnership (ALC) Board, Wildlife Division of the Forestry Commission (WD) , Centre for Coastal Management (CCM) and Wilder Institute - Calgary Zoo with the aim  of helping the community build more resilience to climate change and create awareness about the importance of trees in our ecosystem.

    CCM Spends Time with Children at Ankaful

    The Centre for Coastal Management as part of its 10th Anniversary Outreach Programme, supported the Touch Group Foundation in organizing a Vacation Bible School (VBS) for children in the Ankaful community of the Central Region, to set the tone for the 2023 HOPEFEST.

  • ALDFG in Ghana
    The Project on Abandoned Lost and otherwise Discarded Fishing Gear (ALDFG) in Ghana Commences

    The project on the data collection of Abandoned Lost and otherwise Discarded Fishing Gear (ALDFG)in Ghana under the Ocean Country Partnership Programme (OCPP),through the Centre for Coastal Management (CCM_ACECoR) commenced on the 16th of September 2023 with the training of quality control officers at the Ridge Royal Hotel Cape Coast.
